What happens if I don't pay IAA? ›

Renege Fee - In the event Buyer fails to pay for a vehicle within seven (7) calendar days inclusive of the day the vehicle is awarded to Buyer, Buyer shall pay IAA a “Renege Fee” equal to $1,000 or 15% of sale price, whichever is greater.

Registration is required by IAA in order to bid in our auctions. You can register as a Guest, free of charge (with no bidding privileges), or register for a bidding account as a Public (Individual) or Licensed Business buyer. Public Buyer: Public buyers do not need a business license.

It has four bid status messages with color backgrounds so they are easy to recognize at a glance. They include green for “High bidder” and “Reserve off”, red for “You've been outbid”, and blue for “Bidding in progress.” The “Outbid” bid status persists for a given buyer as long as they are losing on that stock.

In order to request a vehicle that is awarded into your account to be reneged, you must send your request via Email to Buyer Services and list your buyer number, the stock number and the reason why you want to renege the vehicle.

Before the auction, you can place a pre-bid on a vehicle. The highest pre-bid will be represented by proxy at the auction. If you can't attend an auction onsite, securing a proxy bid gives you the opportunity to buy a vehicle anyway. You can set pre-bids on any amount of vehicles up to an hour before the auction.

Consequences for Failing to Pay a Winning Bid

You're liable for the deposit on auction day and the rest of the purchase price, plus fees, by the completion deadline (typically 28 days after the auction). If you can't pay the deposit, you may face legal consequences.

Public Buyers looking to purchase vehicles at IAA branches must adhere to various state regulations.

The answer is yes in some cases. Auto auctions like Copart, IAA, or Manheim will not offer you a temp tag or have registration services for auction vehicles. However with insurance an a permit, this is possible. Your vehicle cannot be a salvage vehicle.

A variety of vehicles will be available, although each will have a reserve price. Can I cancel a bid? No. Once you place a maximum bid on a Timed Auction vehicle, the bid is final.

ACV - Actual Cash Value (ACV) is the estimated retail value of a vehicle if it were in an undamaged condition. This information is provided to IAA by the seller and is based on industry resources such as Kelley Blue Book, Black Book, or an independent valuation service.

Why do I get outbid instantly? ›

Why was I immediately outbid? If you are outbid immediately after placing a bid, it's likely that another bidder is using automatic bidding and has a maximum limit higher than yours. You'll need to increase your maximum limit in order to be the highest bidder.

Vehicles with clear titles have never been deemed a total loss by an insurance company. For IAA vehicles, this usually means the car needs some repairs, but the repairs should not be more than what the vehicle is worth.

Buyer agrees to pay IAA a Dry Run fee equal to 1) $150.00 if transportation distance is 0-1,000 miles or 2) $250.00 if transportation distance is 1,001 miles or greater if Shipper cancels an order for transportation or redirects the order to a different location after 11:59.59 PM ET two calendar days before pickup.

Payment for vehicles may be made with cash, and a daily limit of $500 per day, per branch. Cash equivalent payments can be made up to any amount per day per branch. Change cannot be provided at any branch. Buyers must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for these cash/cash equivalent payments.

Renege Fee is equal to $1,000 or 15% of sale price, whichever is greater.

The debt collector could then garnish your wages and bank accounts, meaning it could take money from your paycheck or accounts. Make sure you respond by the date stated in the court papers so you can defend yourself in court. If you are sued, you may want to consult an attorney.

If you win a lot and don't finalize the purchase (meaning, the lot is not paid in full within 8 calendar days including the day of sale) the Lot will Relist. The Relist fee will be 10% of the final sale price OR $600 – whichever is higher. If you have paid Copart already, contact the Yard directly.
